When most people think of orthodontic braces they think of adolescents with crooked teeth and ugly smiles. While braces are frequently used to correct these concerns, they can be used for far more reasons.

To list a few, braces can be used to correct growth abnormalities in the face, create facial symmetry, correct bite uneveness (malocclusion), reduce wear on teeth from bad bites or grinding and clenching habits, reduce neck and joint pain or headaches associated with malocclusion, reduce cavities between teeth and align teeth for cosmetic or surgical reasons, or in some cases even reposition teeth to replace teeth that were lost many years ago.

In fact, many adults would benefit greatly from orthodontic treatment. Next time you stop by, notice how many employees are wearing braces. Dr. Duke even talked his fiance into getting braces….before the wedding!!!
